Special Associate to SACM Punjab Hassan Khawar on Thursday, Dec 30, 2021. News sources reported that Hassan Khawar said that Punjab will soon launch its first modern Lahore Downtown project in LCBD (Lahore Central Business District). Further, the project will be followed by the launch of Lahore’s first Digital and Residential City.
Apparently, the planned Lahore Downtown will have an underground traffic system, blue roads, smart trees, facilities for pedestrians, an uninterrupted power supply, and the facility of the internet of things (IoT). He further added that that the government has launched the LCBD with PKR 100 million investment. While the PKR 40 billion is generated through the auction of land so far. He also said that the project will cross PKR 100 billion by March 2022, and PKR 200 billion by March 2023. The government is aimed to create business activities of up to PKR 2,500 billion from this business district. However, it is important to mention that the PM Prime Minister (Imran Khan) had inaugurated the CDB (Central Business District) project in Mar 2021.
In addition to that, the project was hurled at the site of the old Walton Airport. Moreover, the project concept design comprises multiple high-rises. Businesses and residential projects are intended to reap the benefits of vertical living. Additionally, the project is said to be Pakistan’s first smart and green construction initiative
