According to news sources, the capital’s administration on Tuesday Jan4,2022 ordered the owners and dealers in Islamabad to inform police before renting houses at the request of police.
(Deputy Commissioner) Mohammad Hamza Shafqat stated that Section 144 has been levied to bind the dealers, owners, and brokers not to rent any property without succumbing to the details of the renter to the police. Through this, the police will be aware of and get details of every person who is residing in the capital city Islamabad. The Deputy Commissioner also specified that the police accused that the rented houses were used for criminal activities.
Furthermore, according to police officials, the registration of the tenants was introduced in 2009. Under this outline, the police collected the following details of the tenants:
Name of the tenant
Number of family members
Where the police tested the status to determine whether the information is correct and checked if they had a criminal record. Apparently, the offenders have changed their tactics. Before, the convicts cast off the small hotel to carry out their activities and formerly, they moved to nullahs and wooded areas. Now, they are using rented houses for these activities.
